If the hum-drum of life has been getting you down, maybe it’s time to re-connect with your inner spirituality and weave a little magick into your day. Spellbox owner and professed white witch, Danae, says there isn’t anything sinister about this supernatural art form, it merely harnesses your energy for positive means.
Enter the newage witch’s lair offering anything and everything magick-related from spellbooks and ingredients for rituals to talismans and tarot cards. Danae explains that witchcraft has two forms – black magick that is more manipulative and dangerous and white magick which helps one gain clarity, wisdom and prosperity. She practices the white craft, of course and most of the goods sold are for sincere purposes only. So forget about picking up hexes and curses, it’s only charms here.
As for the quirky décor, the aim was to instill the feeling of stepping into the private space of a witch’s house. Despite the ornate ware, demon furniture and velvet curtains draped over the windows, it doesn’t send shivers down your spine but invokes a strange sense of familiarity.
At the House of Magickal Arts, good witches run a series of workshops helping you unlock your spiritual side. Learn to read angel cards, develop your psychic powers, bust a couple of ghosts or study the art of spell-making, it’s all good fun if you go in with good intentions and an open mind. Magick enchantment is like Zen meditation, it frees you from your worries and reflects your mood at that particular moment. And as the witch chant goes ‘so mote it be’ – May this happen.
