Aux Batifolles

This unassuming French bistro serves up some of the best French food in Melbourne. I like it for its simplicity and faithful authenticity. For entree, a dozen escargot in garlic and parsley butter was delicious. The rack of lamb was the best piece of lamb I've ever had - tender, moist, full of flavour, not the least bit dry or tough. To finish off, you must try the creme brulee - a generous portion, with requisite caramelised topping that was a delight to crack with a spoon. I could have licked the dish clean! Wine is reasonable, with a very nice house red by the carafe.
