A1 Cafe

If you've been in Melbourne for a couple of years, you'd know that nowhere beats A1's egg chiffon rice. You can order it with char siew, siew yok or roast duck (amongst other things) and within 10mins, a steaming hot plate of rice wrapped in fried egg will be chucked in front of you. Wait another 10 mins more, and you'll be stuffed full of egg, meat and rice.
What I love best about A1 isn't the service or ambience. We only go there for the egg chiffon. Friends from overseas come asking, hey what's this egg chiffon I hear about, and I bring them to A1. It's served up with this thick gooey brown sauce that complements that flavours so well that even though your buttons are busting through the waist, you can't seem to stop.
All in all, I have to give the place a thumbs up. Sinful as it is and soaked with calories, it's definitely something to warm me up for summer!
