I visited this place Taste of Singapore the other day and food was so nice specially the curries they have.its not very spicy so the kids can enjoy eating as well.and they give some chille sambal separatelly if anyone like spicy food.even the kids get papadoms and they dont even charge for that.its a nice place to go and enjoy your meal.they also give uni students special in the week days just for $5.00 with 1 meat and vegie with white rice.
My partner and I visited Taste of Singapore the other day. The food in the bain marie looked very yummy especially the “Pulao- Nasi Ayam biryani” rice cooked with chicken. We also ordered Murtabak and Teh Tarek ( hot drink), after eating the first Murtabak I ordered another one to totally grasp the smooth texture and soft as a cotton Prata.
“Teh Tarek” drink was robust and perfection to the taste…..really really delicious and fulfilling…… I have decided I would visit this eatery at least twice a week to indulge in the delicious and on the spot prepared meal!!!
I heard about taste of Singapore through a friend who really loved the food there. And she recommended that I should go there with and my husband and my 18month baby. My husband and I love spicy food and nasi goreng was recommended. We both ordered the same thing not realizing my little one won’t be able to eat it so I told the lady at the front desk if there is any for my little to eat she told the chef and the chef made my little one nasi goreng without any chili. And they didn’t even charge us for the meal they cooked up for my little. Now that what I call good customer service. I would recommend Taste of Singapore to any every. It’s the place to be. 10 out of 10
I thought I would try this little cafe since I have been craving Singapore food lately and I was impressed with the reviews.
My partner and I ordered the nasi goreng and the mee rebus.
The first dish to arrive was the nasi, it was cold & tasteless, he asked if they could heat it up and asked what method of heating they used: "Microwave" was the reply YUK! So he asked them to refry it again. In the end we were so disgusted with the place, the stale air, the look of the food in the bain marie that we wanted to leave food or not.
When I got my meal I kindly said thanks and left. I felt the container of curry gravy and that was only just warm, I dare not even bother to try it for fear of salmonella or some other kind of food bug!
Even the lady at the counter said business was not too good. They had just taken over the business 2 months ago....I wonder why? Apparently the food in the bain marie was cooked in the morning and left to sit.....maybe all day?
I lost $13 but it's better than paying for a stomach bug and trip to the docs!
Please don't go.
This tiny Malaysian/Singaporean eatery in Clayton is worth a trip to the 'burbs for the awesome Nasi Lemak at the equally awesome price of $5.50 for a plain (sambal, hard boiled eggs, peanuts and ikan bilis included). All the food is the real deal - just like home. An extra $1.50 brings you a serve of aromatic chicken curry to have with your NL, with the meat so tender it's falling off the bone. Satays are also a great deal - $8 for 10 generously sized satays perfectly grilled and heaps of peanut sauce (only available Fri-Sun). Teh tarik is hand poured to perfection (unlike some places that make a poor instant version). Other mamak favourites like biriyani, roti, murtabak, mee siam and mee rebus are also on offer. Go early, as the place only has two tables, and your favourite dish might just run out!
