Crumpler - City

Would be good if this mentioned actually WHERE you could get a custom bag made. The answer is the Fitzroy store on Smith St, Melbourne....
Stuart Crumpler was an art student who started off as a simple bike courier for Dave Roper and Will Miller’s courier business, Minuteman. As fate would have it, they were in need for a bag to complete their uniforms and asked Stuart for sample designs.
Red, yellow and blue were the colours of the original bag Stuart designed. By 1997, the bags brought so much positive feedback that they decided to swap over to the bag business. Made out of the sturdy cordura in loud colours, Crumpler bags aren’t simply a fashion statement they stand up to the punishment of everyday commuting abuse. Rumor has it that Stuart runs the strength tests himself by filling prototypes with bricks, attaching it to his tow bar and cruising around Ballarat.
In the beginning, Crumplers were all hand made customized originals and the boys have decided to return to these origins. Crumpler now offers you 14 different colour for you to unleash your own creativity. There is no limit for your imagination and the craziest request to date was for a design of Karl Marx’s head!
Crumpler is a Melbourne original, a home brand that has spread worldwide. The good old red, yellow and blue cordura originals can still be seen slung across the shoulders of the fashion elite in around the world. With the customized bags, you can keep your style and still set yourself apart from the rest, so go on give the lads a challenge.
