Head to Bobby’s for fashion’s prime Cuts

Some people can get quite attached to their childhood pets. For New Zealander Thom it was a pig named Bobby that helped shape Melbourne’s latest addition to the male fashion scene.

Set up like a butcher shop, Bobby’s Cuts presents cutting edge men’s wear in a decidedly new direction. A large vintage scale welcomes customers at the shop front, while an ex butcher’s meat display showcases neatly packed Styrofoam boxes of American Apparel tees complete with cling wrap to keep the freshness in. Meat hooks have been knocked into the walls, and on them jeans by Mjolk are casually slung over.

Thom’s business partner - Fredrik is the Swedish designer behind the made in Melbourne Mjolk label. Thom explains their style as ‘clean, fresh and smart street’. The pair is planning on bringing in around 5 labels, one of which is HEM & HAW - an Aussie designed version of their edgy street attire.

The clean bare feel of Bobby’s Cuts is a welcoming contrast to other over-stylized concept stores. And the space downstairs will soon be turned into a funky gallery for local Melbourne art.

With a range of clothing catering for everything from plain basics and denims, to formal jackets and suits, you can be sure to find a fresh cut to your liking.
