Dessert, Dessert & Greek Coffee

Medallion 209-211 Lonsdale St Melbourne
Myscore_3 Btn_firstreview

Medallion has been around for years!!!!! Love this place, always one of my top dessert joints to visit.

Freshly made Greek partissers...my favourite which is Glatobuticko (filo pastry layered with custard-like filling and topped off with sugar syrup)..not too sweet or sugary. Accompanied by a shot of traditional Greek coffee (looks lik mud but you got to try it), it comes mild, sweet or very sweet.

It's a real Greek flavoured place, family owned business, Greek music clips playing in the background on the tvs located around the joint.

Winter Special: $27.5 2 course & wine

Fifteen Basement, 115-117 Collins St (Enter through George Pde) Melbourne

We were all looking forward to attending this luncheon, booked 6 weeks in advance. Deciding to make this a long weekend, some of us took the Monday off to enjoy a lovely long lunch.

Parking was not too bad, walking distance to George Street. Upon entering,l walked down the stairs, a little confusing as you could go either left or right, no one was there to greet and direct me in the right direction. I justed walked around before entering the bar area, very nice, one whole wall from floor to ceiling was full of wine.

Moving on, l walked passed an open kitchen..love open kitchens. Your able to watch the chefs as they make their creations. I liked the feel of the restaurant, very nice, open and with a modern feel. The frangipani were a nice touch. I finally located my friends and immediately put my order thru, l was hungry..arrrgh!

Chatting away with my friends, time just flew, then we realised that 45min had passed and we still had not recieved our entree. Upon enquiry w our waitress, we were then told that the kitchen had lost our order but that the chefs would get right on it. 'Right on it' meant another 45mins wait, mean while our working lunch break was almost over. Once we recieved our meal, we had to rush through our meal. My main which was veal ravioli with beans and sauce didnt look too appetiting, but l plunged in hoping for the best. At best it tasted better than it looked, but l was a little let down. Next was dessert, thank god we didnt have to wait too long for that.
Dessert was the saving grace, sticky date w butterscotch & cream sauce...yum-my! 3 hours had passed since l arrived, and frankly, it will be a while if ever l would really want to return. the venue had a great ambiance, but the food really was not up to scratch. Signing out Yauie

LOVEBOX

Element Lounge Lower Level, 85 Queens St, Melbourne

People! This is the place to be on Saturdays. Last week was the launching of their new night 'LOVEBOX',..cute name! Gives me the warm and fuzzies..haha.

Fantastic venue, very cool and chic. LOVED the Djs, there were awesum playing vocals and progressive house. Checkout Dj Alton - he made my night playing all my favourites. Couldn't stop dancing and l had on 3 inch heels.

My friends and l reserved a table in the VIP room, great place to chill, drink and listen to the music (resting my aching calves:). LOVEd the VIP room as we could order bottles of alcohol from our 'bottle girls', this way we didn't have to go to the bar for drinks. Try Chivas with Green Tea or Vodka with Calpis soda (new drink fad in Asia)- hmm getting thirsty!

I'll be back, it had a great vibe about the place.
